Dance Teachers in Grande Prairie

Taryn McNaught

Dance Instructor

Ms. Taryn started dancing at the age of three, when her mom put her into tap lessons. Several years later, the dance studio was like her second home, and she was taking classes as many nights a week as her parents would drive her into the city for. She began teaching at the age of 23, and is driven by a deep love of watching her students learn and grow both as dancers and simply as people.

Throughout her time as a student, Ms. Taryn became versed in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and modern, and completed numerous ballet and jazz exams through both the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and the Canadian Dance Teachers Association (CDTA). Her love for learning and knowledge is endless, and she has her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Biology from the University of Saskatchewan, with plans to continue expanding her dance knowledge and certifications at every opportunity. Currently, Ms. Taryn is a CDTA Pre-Associate, has achieved her National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer Certification and is working towards her mUvmethod certification.

Ms. Taryn has been influenced greatly throughout her years by her experiences as a dancer, and some of her fondest memories are from her years as a student. Ms. Taryn hopes to have a positive and lifelong impact on her students that will carry on outside of the studio. Her classes are a positive and inclusive environment and Ms. Taryn will always encourage her students to explore their passions and talents, respect their bodies and their mental and physical wellness, and instill confidence in their skills and abilities.
