Dance has been part of Courtney’s life since she was just three years old. What began as a childhood passion has grown into a lifelong love of music, movement, and creativity. For Courtney, dance is the ultimate form of expression – and choreography is her favourite outlet. She admits she’s often choreographing in her head during the workday, letting the music guide her imagination.
Courtney joined Ark Dance Academy with a desire to return to dancing and to share that joy with children. Her qualifications reflect her broad training: Advanced CDTA Tap and Jazz, Grade 8 RAD Ballet, multiple ADAPT jazz and tap exams, and CBTF baton badges. With this background, she brings both structure and artistry to the classroom, ensuring dancers develop strong technique while finding their own expressive voice.
Outside the studio, Courtney is a busy mom to three kids – two dancers and a hockey player, and loves spending time with her family, two dogs, and several horses. Her favourite things are just as colorful as she is: a cinnamon dolce latte, teal or blue hues, and pasta nights. She describes herself as a “Saturday” – relaxed, joyful, and family-centered.
Her “boring superpower” is an iron stomach, but her real gift is her ability to blend humor, passion, and dedication into her teaching. At Ark, Courtney is excited to create a space where dancers feel inspired, supported, and celebrated – just as she has throughout her own journey with dance.
