Loanne Walker Dance Teachers in Grande Prairie

Loanne Walker

Dance Instructor/Co-Owner

Ms. Loanne was 12 years old when introduced to her first dance class while training in competitive gymnastics.

The love affair with dance began! At 13 years old she signed up for as many dance classes as her Gymnastics schedule would allow and by age 15, she was teaching her own classes. Currently she has over 25 years of teaching experience, all of which have led her to where she is today, opening her very own Dance Studio with her longtime friend and partner in crime Ms. Lexi Wanotch.
For Ms. Loanne, the art of teaching dance is so much more than teaching the perfect Jeté or the perfect Pirouette, it is about mentoring and guiding her students in life, mind, body, and soul. She believes dance instils confidence, accountability, team building, perseverance, passion, respect, knowledge, and work ethic. Ms. Loanne takes immense pride in watching her students’ progress as dancers, but she takes greater pride in watching them grow as individuals.

Along with her passion for Dance, Ms. Loanne is also a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) and an avid “knowledge junkie”. She continually seeks new developments in dance training, body awareness, mental skills, and injury prevention to ensure her dancers are training at their highest level of technique using the safest scope of practice.

Ms. Loanne has been a member of the Canadian Dance Teachers Association (CDTA) since 2008. She holds Licentiate certifications in Jazz and Tap, Associate certifications in Modern and Acrobatic Dance, and is an Examiner in Training. She also has certifications in Acrobatic Arts, modules 1 & 2, muVmethod and has completed the Ballet Blog Teacher Training Level 1.
